Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer

This document was drafted by the PlaneSell engineering team to describe how the platform actually behaves. It has not been reviewed by a qualified legal professional and must be before PlaneSell accepts real users. It is published here so the behaviour it describes can be checked against the software.

What PlaneSell is

PlaneSell is a marketplace. It lets sellers publish aircraft for sale and lets buyers find them. PlaneSell is not a party to any sale, not a broker, not an agent for either side, and does not hold funds. Any contract is between the buyer and the seller directly.

PlaneSell is not an aviation authority, a maintenance organisation, a surveyor or a valuer, and nothing on the platform is airworthiness certification.

Where information on a listing comes from

This is the most important section on this page, and it is the reason the platform is built the way it is. Every material fact on an aircraft page carries a visible evidence grade. They mean exactly this and nothing more:

GradeWhat it meansWhat it does not mean
Seller suppliedThe seller typed it.That anyone checked it.
Document supportedThe seller attached a document they say supports it.That PlaneSell read or accepted it.
Registry matchedIt matches a national aircraft register we ingest, on the date shown. That the register is current, or that the aircraft is airworthy.
Platform verifiedA reviewer confirmed a document exists and is internally consistent with the claim. That the aircraft is airworthy, sound, correctly maintained or fairly priced.
Not establishedNobody has stated it.That it is fine, or that it does not apply.

Verification is never a statement about airworthiness, condition or value. It does not replace a pre-purchase inspection by an independent maintenance organisation, and you should not treat it as one. See how verification works.

Estimates and calculators

Cost-of-ownership figures, market position comparisons and the VAT calculator are illustrative models, not advice. They are built from stated assumptions which are shown alongside every result. They are not tax advice, not financial advice and not a valuation. Take professional advice before relying on any of it.

Where the information available does not support an answer, these tools say so rather than producing a number. That is deliberate.

If you are a seller

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you publish. You must have the right to sell the aircraft you list, must not knowingly misstate its identity, hours, damage history or regulatory status, and must state its VAT position honestly.

We may withdraw a listing that appears inaccurate, and we surface discrepancies between a listing and a national register where we find them.

If you are a buyer

Do your own diligence. Commission a pre-purchase inspection from an organisation independent of the seller, review the logbooks yourself, and settle the VAT and import position in writing before you commit funds. Nothing on this platform substitutes for any of that.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You may delete it at any time from your account page.

We may suspend an account that publishes fraudulent listings, harasses other users, or attempts to attack the platform.

Liability

PlaneSell provides the platform as it is. We do not warrant that any listing is accurate, that any aircraft is airworthy, or that any transaction will complete. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for losses arising from a transaction between users.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Consumers retain their statutory rights.

Changes

We record which version of these terms you accepted and when. If we change them substantively we will bump the version and ask you to accept the new one.

Law

Governing law and jurisdiction are to be completed before launch, alongside the legal entity details. This is one of the items requiring legal review.
